FAQ

What are Soulshots?

Headshots that let your SOUL SHINE!

Okay let’s be real, headshots come with so much baggage and rules!

This creates blocks - physical, emotional, and mental blocks leading up to and during a shoot.

Rules restricting your body, your wardrobe, or any creative expression - throw them out the window. Set yourself free. And gain connected, authentic moments and usable "headshots" of yourself... but more importantly, of your SOUL!

How do I prep for a photoshoot?

5 quick things you can do to Prep!

1. Gather Inspo Photos
2. Have fun with your wardrobe choices
3. Practice your hair and makeup OR hire a MUA whom you love their work.
4. Read over my Tips & Tricks section in your confirmation email!
5. Don't limit yourself ;)

What is the difference between a Soul Session & Soulshots?

A Soul Session is a whole session dedicated to self expression. Often held in Mother Nature, this session is a lush EXPERIENCE, indulging in creativity and FREEDOM.

"Soulshots", are bringing this aspect of freedom into, what is typically known as, "Headshots". Soulshots are "Headshots," but without the baggage ;)

What's the Turn Around Time for receiving photos?

Typical turn around time for your Online Gallery is 12 business days.

Once you request your edits, edits may take up to 2.5 weeks to receive.

Quality is not sacrificed for time and quality takes the time it takes. So please plan ahead if you are wanting photos for a deadline.

How far in advance do you book?

I am typically booked 2-3 month in advance.

Best advice is to plan ahead and book your session in advance to guarantee your spot for when you need it.

A cancellation list is available for those hoping to book sooner than what may be available at the time of interest.

Can I gift a session?

Absolutely yes! Gift cards are available. The gift card will be emailed to you, along with a description of the type of session or amount being gifted!

What's a Light Edit vs Detailed Edit

Please see edit definitions below.

What is your Policy for cancellations or rebooking?

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your session. The deposit is non-transferable and non-refundable in the event of cancellation or rescheduling.

The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to the scheduled session date.

If a cancellation or rescheduling request is made within 72 hours of the scheduled session time, the client is responsible for the full value of the booking. All payments made are non-refundable and the session fee cannot be transferred to a new date.

To ensure fairness to all clients and to protect limited session availability, this policy is applied consistently to all bookings. No exceptions for unexpected circumstances.

Whats is my USAGE RIGHTS for the photos taken in our shoot?

Photographers charge for sessions based on “End Use”. Soulshots / Soul Sessions and edit prices enable the client/actor/artist to use the shots for self-promotion and personal use only (ex: social media, website, LinkedIn, business cards, media kit, Press Release).

ALL OTHER RIGHTS MUST BE NEGOTIATED (examples of such but not limited to photographs being used on/in: merchandise, book/novel, biography picture, film/tv, magazine spread, commercial use, use for sale, etc).

edit definitions:

"Batch Edits"

Like a Light Edit but by the batch: colour, tone, exposure - some photos may still be over or under exposed. Applied to a large chunk of photos before sending off the client's Gallery. There is room for error on some photos; no cropping done; no fine detail work.

These are unfinished products, although often can turn out pretty stunning.

"Light Edits"

Individual photo attention is done here; perfecting colour correction, exposure, and cropping done in Lightroom. Some slight dodge and burn may be applied for a quick softening of skin / shadows - it's faster and cheaper but lower quality then a detailed edit.

No fine detail work is done here (like skin imperfections, specific shadows on the face, removing fluff, etc).

Great for social media.

"Detailed Edits"

These are high grade Industry Standard Headshot Edits. One individual photo being worked on at a time in Photoshop.

This slower process focuses on fine detailed work like skin imperfections and under eyes area, unpleasant shadows on the face.

All this, while still appearing natural, for a perfected, flawless finish.

Note:

Individual stray hairs that can be targeted easily will be removed; hairs that are fuzzy/clumpy and has no end is not removed.

Tattoo Removal is extra depending on intricacy.
